Dev S. Sukumar was Sports Correspondent with The New Indian Express (Bangalore) and indya.com before copping out. He drifted for a year, reluctantly took up another job, and quit for good after another year.
The only constant through these diverse experiences has been his interest in badminton. He spent two years working on this biography, interviewing more than 200 of Prakash’s family, friends, associates, and international contemporaries. He travelled to Jakarta to interview some of the legends of world badminton, such as Rudy Hartono, Morten Frost, Christian Hadinata, Icuk Sugiarto, and Han Jian.
He has written for most badminton publications, including World Badminton (www.worldbadminton.net, the official e-magazine of the International Badminton Federation) and Indian Badminton (the official magazine of the Badminton Association of India). He runs www.badmintonmania.com, one of the few sites on Indian badminton.
